I kind of like Scott's technique. However another technique that is commonly done. Some people get real anal about this though. Probably because they can't search for an indicator in the indicator columns in the source. Frustrates them to no end trying to find out where indicator 92 is turned off. *in(81)='00000'; *in(90)='000000'; Rob Berendt -- Group Dekko Services, LLC Dept 01.073 PO Box 2000 Dock 108 6928N 400E Kendallville, IN 46755 http://www.dekko.com CarollaT@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent by: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 02/12/2004 07:06 PM Please respond to RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries <rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx cc Fax to Subject Indicator 'overlay' array or data structure I have a simple question. I can't seem to find out how to accomplish the following. I have a display file that contains, for each input field, an indicator-line that reverse-images the field. This indicator is turned on by the program if the data in that field is invalid. Before I step into my error-checking SR, I want to turn off all of these indicators. Right now, this is accomplished by the following: C IndOff BegSR C Eval *In81 = *Off C Eval *In82 = *Off C Eval *In83 = *Off C Eval *In84 = *Off C Eval *In85 = *Off C Eval *In86 = *Off C Eval *In90 = *Off C Eval *In91 = *Off C Eval *In92 = *Off C Eval *In93 = *Off C Eval *In94 = *Off C Eval *In95 = *Off C EndSR I have seen an example of this done by using an indicator array or indicator data structure that 'overlaid' a set of indicators, so that I could do something like C Eval MyInds = '000000000000' What D-spec would I need to create such a structure?
