Actually, they don't match lengths and that is the problem.  As soon as you
use a command line to call a program you need to remember that the default
length rules are in effect.  SBMJOB is a command line, just like QCMD and
QCMDEXEC.  The FAQ has an entry on this.  http://faq.midrange.com  Search
for 'garbage.'  This situation is exactly the same for ANY program written
in ANY language, so where the FAQ talks about RPG, feel free to substitute
CL.
