   Mike,

There is a CEE API that you can call and tell it to evoke one of your own
procedures when the service program abends. Go to the OS/400 manuals
website and search the API guide(s) for "Abnormal Termination" and the API
should be listed. It is, as I said, one of the CEExxxx APIs.

To get to the manual's website, go to www.rpgiv.com and click the drop
down list on the Navigate menu and select either V5R2 or V5R1 manuals
link; it will then redirect you to the IBM page.

Whenever a service program abends the system seems to handle the error
so I don't have a chance to perform a dump. The calling program abends
with the call to procedure error at which point I can look in the job
log to see what happened. Is there a way to have the system not answer
the service program error so that a dump can be requested?

If not, what would be the best way to handle a generic error so that a
     dump could be performed.

     Any help would be appreciated.
