It's a little easier to visualize putting the X in between the = and + > than having to reverse it. There's a practical reason why you can't do that. Take this example: "X=-1" In your proposed syntax, it subtracts 1 from X. However, in the current syntax, it sets X to -1. How would the compiler know which one you meant?
