Ken and Simon, thanks for the answers. They cleared the fog in this brain.

As you pointed out even if the workstn file is program described the workstn
file has to have a display file, and it looks for a file with the program's
name + FM on the end. Even though it said SCREEN in the program it wasn't
using SCREEN.

Huh? Unless there is an override, the program will attempt to open a display file with the same name that it is defined with in the program, just like any other file.
