What you said in below <snip> was precisely my understanding and also what I've found in my same experience. (Like to see that confirmed by a true expert, once in a while...:-) My error in thinking was not taking the call-level into account... Thus *JOB does no good on an override issued at a higher-call-level pgm (ie, pgm lower in the invocation stack). I also agree that ACTGRP may be overrated, but gather they are a pretty big performance-boost over OPM when using *CALLER. Also, what-ya-call "smoke-and-mirrors" of QCMDEXC.. I would call "cloak-and-dagger"...<bg> Seems unfortunate, as it would be nice to be able to deploy a similar technique to be able to do an OVR in a CLLE. Have you ever used condition-handlers? I started thinking about these, oh.. Summer a couple years ago. Have NOT done any actual coding with these techniques yet.. just some thinking. I could, possibly, see a use for them in certain situations. | -----Original Message----- | [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Douglas Handy <snip some GREAT content for the archives>
