Actually no.  And I tried whipping up a quick & dirty to see if there was 
something returned in the SQLCA and I don't see anything there when I run 
the program in debug.

given for an INSERT into a DB with such a thing (V5R2, embedded SQL)?

(Without the "solution" to use a timestamp to read this record to get
knowledge of the key.)
