On the subject of procedure overloading, I would add that it would be nice to have, but it is not my top priority for RPG. That is unless RPG was going to support templates :) ( In C++, templates cant happen unless the compiler supports overloading. ) My tippy top request for RPG would be a procedure exit procedure. That is a procedure that is guarenteed to be called when the procedure is being returned from. In order to write robust code that is able to handle all error situations and release resources, this is a must have. I know that ILE has facilities for this, but it adds a lot of code to a procedure and probably adds to the runtime overhead. For such an important requirement, the compiler should provide a built in answer. -Steve
