Hi *ALL, sorry for crossposting, but i really want a big number of votes for this one. If you are a RPG programmer, go and vote! I've added a feature request at FRED, in which i ask for syntax checking in /FREE mode. This is missing in WDSC and in SEU. It is a shame, that the "old" fixed form syntax checker rulez over the latest in technology to edit the sources. Just an example with the appearing error messages (mine are german): /FREE asking = ''can that be true?'; thinking = ((as you can't see anything else? pretty dumb...; /END-FREE C EVAL OK = ''not with me' RNF5377E Ende des Ausdrucks erwartet. C EVAL OK = function(() RNF0637E Ein Operand wurde erwartet, aber nicht gefunden; die Bestimmung wird ignoriert. RNF0312E Rechte runde Klammer erwartet, aber nicht gefunden. as you can see, the syntax checker is either dumb as dumb can be, or it does not exist. +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | So please vote for feature 270 and show IBM that there are people | | wanting to program nowadays RPG without loss of features they | | already had! I rely on you RPG-folks out there! | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ That's what's FRED is for - IBM's "Feature Request Enhancement Database". Please visit http://www7b.software.ibm.com/wsdd/products/fred/fred.html and register for the "Websphere Developer Domain". The feature "Syntax check in /FREE!" is #270. Thanks in advance for your vote and so helping to keep RPG and RPG editing fun! -- Mit freundlichen Grüssen / best regards Anton Gombkötö Organisation und Projektleitung Avenum Technologie GmbH Wien - Salzburg - Stuttgart http://www.avenum.com
