(If you want some practice in proper indentation, do a bit of Python programming. It's one of the few languages that actually *requires* consistent indentation! ;-)

I like (and follow) the indentation and spacing that the 'indent' utility does. indent is a C beautifier that nicely formats C code. It make your code look consistent and pretty closely follows the ideas others have already presented (2-3 space indent, single space before '(', appropriate indentation on multi-line statements).


I also like to put constants in all caps. And I don't like to use Mixed Case Variables, TheyDriveMeNuts. As much as possible I use lower case (saves my wrist from hurting).
