special characters are not treated in XML4PR400 procedures when c reating an XML document

Hi,

We need to create a CDATASection in a XML Document .
The document Section may contain  special characters  ( é , è , à ) .
When a string with these characters is treated, no data at all is put in the
XML Document .
The same happens with  Text Nodes .

The String originally is in UTF8 ( CcsId 1208).
I tried to convert the string to another codepage before treatment 
(I tried both 037 and 500 , 500 being the Codepage of our iSeries)
All in vain.

Converting XML documents to DB2 works without a problem.
Special characters give no problem here .

any ideas ?
