don't use the data structure as a parameter.  that's probably the error
you're getting.

either pass the DS as a single variable and move it to your procedure
defined data structure, or pass a pointer that is based on the calling DS
and then base your procedure DS on that pointer.

I think.  Others will probably correct me.... ;)
