Mike, >Can this be done? It can as of V3R2 or so, but originally changes to a buffer by a trigger program were ignored by the system. To keep programs from inadvertently changing the contents, this behavior became the default. All you need to do is add ALWREPCHG(*YES) to the trigger, and make sure it is a *BEFORE time not *AFTER event trigger. Allow repeating change defaults to *NO. Doug
