Then, do the same thing in your RPG program and compare the results. I empathize with your pain, but remember, DOS doesn't ALSO have to handle QSYS libraries, yada yada yada. I realize it's tough to get started, but you're really in the very initial part of the learning curve, where the most speed bumps are. If it still doesn't work for you, email me the whole code and I'll see what if I can find a little time to look at it. Joe
