Based on what you need to do (CLRPFM, CPYTOIMPF), there is no need to open
the file, just execute the CL commands, either via a CL program or via
QCMDEXC in RPG.

Subject: Open with USROPN Files

I'm thinking the answer 'NO' but I'll ask anyway.

I have a file that contains several records with the file names being used
in serveral programs.

The file names are brought into these programs as a field variable to do
things like CLRPFM, CPYTOIMPF, etc.

Is it truth that there is no way to do this:

C EVAL FILENAME = ''' +
%trim(DRKY) + ''' <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< this
C OPEN FILENAME

C Eval Qcmd = 'CLRPFM
FILE(' + %trim(DRKY) + ')'

Can't test myself iSeries not avail.

Thanks
Bill Hopkins
