when I've had problems with finding stuff in the archives, i usually try
google's 'search this site only' feature. it may not show the most recent
posts, but i usually get good results with older threads.

I agree... I've had problems finding things lately, searching doesn't
seem to find things that I know are in the archives.

In the case of the Millseconds thread, it's easy to just click on the Aug
2003 area, and then use the "Find" ability of the web browser to locate
the word "milliseconds" on the page.

But, for something that I saw posted a long time ago, I don't necessarily
know which month it was posted in, or what precisely the topic was. So, I
need to search for words in the document... and if that's not working,
then there's a problem that should be addressed!
