If the subfile will contain less than 2000 or so records consider using a
loadall subfile instead of an array.  Easy to design, lightening fast to
program, lightening fast to execute, and you can have an attractive scroll
bar to navigate.  Your whole program including  selecting a subfile record
can be under 50 lines.
