If the subfile will contain less than 2000 or so records consider using a loadall subfile instead of an array. Easy to design, lightening fast to program, lightening fast to execute, and you can have an attractive scroll bar to navigate. Your whole program including selecting a subfile record can be under 50 lines. (the screen shot on this page ( http://www.martinvt com/Code_Samples/Dropdown_box/dropdown_box.html ) shows what I mean. --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Date: Tuesday, July 01, 2003 12:11:58 PM To: 'RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries' Subject: RE: subfile? ... I still tend to use arrays instead of subfiles, probably because of those early 36 days, (and the impression that I have that arrays are much more efficient than subfiles) (I was going to say fact, but have no desire to start a holy war :-) )
