"didn't explain them very well" is a kind way of putting it.  I think
you should do a feedback in the info center - that way you'll probably
get a definitive answer, AND probably the documentation will get
improved.

I'm pretty sure those values are passed to activation group exits (that
you register with CEE4RAGE), and there are also a couple of subfields in
the L&U (Languages and Utilities) Work Area that seem to match (see
struct _LU_Work_Area_T in qsysinc/h(milib)).
