don't get worried about the fact that the file is a source file
- its still an externally defined file and you can process it in the
same way as a normal file.
Just define the file as an externaly described file.
Do a DSPFFD to display the field names.
You will need to rename the format since by default its the same
name as the file and hence must be changed. e.g. if RPGLE
FQDDSSRC UF E K DISK RENAME(QDDSSRC:DDSSRC)
What you must do is do an OVRDBF to the required member b4
you open the file.
