I'm always changing the way I do things, constantly trying different ways and different ideas, hoping to improve myself. Also, in tutorials I tend to try to keep things as simple as possible. Like I said in a different message, it's easier to learn things if you start with something simple, and build up from there. Plus, not everyone is looking to write a routine that'll handle 20 million calls efficnetly. You, specifically, were looking for the best possible performance.
