When you're at work your expected to work and with the rare exception of a couple of people (Andrew <G>) most of us don't have iSerieses in our basement. In the case of Java you can create a _complete_ and _working_ application without an iSeries and still apply that knowledge (and actual code) to your iSeries. <snip> that was a good argument in the past, but now for about $10 a month, you can have access to an up-to-date iSeries and play all you want if you are so inclined.
