Thanks for your guidance but stupid me had the source type of RPGSQL not 
RPGLE.  I changed it and now I can prompt.  I made the changes you 
suggested and viola it works. 

Thanks alot for your help with this (I even removed my modified code with 
the field definitions and it still works).   Now off to bigger and better 
things.

Scott,

If you don't get the F-spec prompt the F isn't in position 6 of your line.
That might be throwing everything off.  I am making the assumption you are
editing with PDM.  What release are you at?
