There was a lot of discussion on another RPGIV list at least a year/year and half ago. I think the web site was a start and base for an agenda and guidelines, etc. Projects weren't started and source wasn't submitted at the time. PHP.net has it's base site while much of it's open source exist at SourceForge. -----Original Message----- From: Bartell, Aaron L. We are just not a very large group compared to other platform/languages out there. BTW, I can't get to the site (iSeriesOpenSource.com). I have never heard of it before now. Why did you start your own iSeries open source site when there are other large sites available for hosting open source projects (sourceforge.com for instance)? Maybe that is part of the problem, we don't utilize existing technology to make our lives easier. . . Just some thoughts. Nobody contributes to it. Everybody wants the results of it, but nobody wants to put in the effort to make it happen. We registered iSeriesOpenSource.com/.org about two years ago, nothing happened. Now, there are several people who have websites that have put in a ton of work on utilities and tools for the OS/400 world. Granted some of them have included source code. But I have yet to see an Open Source project in the iSeries market. Of course I'd like an RPG IV compiler (which by the was is written in C, not PL/MI like the old RPGIII compiler is), but I don't see spirit or motivation behind making it a success.
