No. I am simply suggesting enabling THE ALREADY EXISTING FREE-FORM SYNTAX in
the fixed format. Think about it:
KLIST CHAIN MYFILE
IF %FOUND(MYFILE)
MOVE DBFLD WKFLD
ENDIF
Becomes:
CHAIN(X) KLIST MYFILE
IF %FOUND(MYFILE)
MOVE DBFLD WKFLD
ENDIF
As opposed to:
/free
chain klist myfile;
/end-free
IF %FOUND(MYFILE)
MOVE DBFLD WKFLD
ENDIF
Which is more readable to you? Not to mention to a veteran programmer who
is maintaining legacy programs.
