We do something similar to what your trying to do but we do it using Excel macro's and Microsoft Query (Included with Office). We created files on the AS/400 to match what we want in the spreadsheet and populate them using scheduled RPG programs (a few actually use 400 query to create/update the files. This also helps the performance of MS query because it does not have to run against thousands of records. We then created an Excel macro to run several MS Query against files on the 400 populate a range of cells and then copy them to a new spreadsheet, sort, sum, hide columns and email them out (3 Workbooks 4 - 6 tabs on each). All we need to do is open the 1st workbook and the macro auto starts, then sit back as it creates the spreadsheets and emails them all hands off. If we left a PC logged on to the AS/400 we could probably set this up in the XP task scheduler and automate the process. If you like I can give you more information on what we do. I then need to email there files to our customers. Any ideas or suggestions on how to automate this process.
