Hi All, In case anyone's interested, I did finally mnange to resolve this issue. I eventually traced it back to a mapping error in the translation routine in our EDI software which was placing a wrong value in a key field. The file is read from the beginning each time. What I did not mention is that the first job deletes the file reference 1 records and reorganises the files before the second job runs. I have run the program which deletes the file reference 1 records interactively and it definitely deletes only its own records. The problem is that when run in batch it appears to be deleting the preceding file reference 2 records as well. Given that the file is reorganised before the second job runs, I think that can be the only explanation. If anyone has any ideas, I will be grateful as I am at a bit of an impasse.
