Good point, Scott. However, in our situation we have standardized external data structures which are used extensively in our legacy applications. We are just taking our first baby steps with prototypes. Keeping the data structure method for certain applications better fits what we are trying to accomplish. Also, helped to get us going on this without a lot of resistance from those who prefer the status quo. Even through all our programs have been converted to RPGIV, they are still mostly running under OPM. Some still resist using extended factor 2. Valene M. I thought Type Checking was one of the main reasons to use prototyping.?.? -- Scott > -----Original Message----- > From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx > [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of > VWilliamson@xxxxxxxxxxx > Sent: Wednesday, March 19, 2003 9:45 AM > To: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries > Subject: Re: how do I prototype this .... > > Robert, try this link.
