You should probably do some reading on the IFS.  I know you said QDLS, but
you might think about switching to the IFS (root) file system instead.
http://faq.midrange.com and search for IFS.  The link is in the lower left
corner.  If you really want to use QDLS from RPG, then you need to look at
the HFS APIs instead.

I know you said that you want to place these documents into DB2, but that
isn't always possible.  Some PC files (like Word documents) Don't have a
fixed record, and therefore, no fixed record length DB2 file can contain the
data.
