My apologies if someone has already suggested this and I missed it, but I
think %Check is a better fit for what you are doing - probably no more or
less efficient, but Check just seems to spell out what you're doing better.

        IF %Check('ABC' : ACFLAG  ) = 0;  // Flag is valid
