Hi Zak. Thanks. I have resolved the problem. The null indicator is actually an attribute to the field name. So it must be set to *off before it will accept any data or a comparison can be made. After setting the value of the field, you still have to manually change that indicator to change the field from null. I don't have the details in front of me, but I'm sure you can find it. > -----Original Message----- > From: Tilo von Brandis [mailto:tvonbrandis@safair.co.za] > Some of my fields in a database are defined to allow Null fields. > > Yet when I try to update those fields and update the record > the fields are > still Null. This does not happen in all programs. _______________________________________________ This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo.cgi/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l. _______________________________________________________________________ Disclaimer and confidentiality note Everything in this e-mail and any attachments relating to the official business of SAFAIR (PTY) Ltd is proprietary to the company.
