I'm trying to determine the best way to dynamically build the INTO clause of a Fetch statement where the filename is determined dynamically within the program. I also want to avoid using any external file definitions. As your other post mentions, it is possible to determine the field level information from Syscolumns or the QADB files (which I think Syscolumns is built over) or an API. I do have a procedure that returns a MODS to me of all the field layout info in a file and I can use that, but I also have never used the SQLDA and was wondering if that was a better (or at least, more SQLish) method to be using. All the examples I have been able to find are either in another language, or not dynamic and use hard-coding of field-layout information. > -----Original Message----- > From: rob@dekko.com [SMTP:rob@dekko.com] > Sent: Tuesday, December 10, 2002 4:52 PM > To: rpg400-l@midrange.com > Subject: Re: SQLDA > > This is a multipart message in MIME format. > -- > [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] > Just curious.
