What runs faster:

-DSPFFD from withing RPGLE, (I assume QCMDEXC, system() or some such
thing). Then reading that output file.

-SELECT SYS_CNAME, SYS_TNAME, SYS_DNAME
 FROM syscolumns
WHERE sys_tname='IIM' and SYS_DNAME='DATDIVF'

-SELECT DBILIB, DBIFIL, DBIFLD, DBIITP, DBIFLN, DBINSC
FROM qadbifld
WHERE dbilib='DATDIVF' and dbifil='IIM'

I might have something that I'll look for later. Not SQLDA, but RPGLE
that uses DSPFFD to an outfile and allows the user select fields to sort
by.

Subject: SQLDA

Does anyone have a good sample of Using the SQLDA in an RPG program where
the file name is completely dynamic? In other words, to determine the
field
names and values on-the-fly, after determining the file name. Or, a good
book of examples in RPG?
