Same time to develop

Data entry from browser and update as400 database.

1 - as400 tool kit for java (data queue Class)
2 - Tom cat on pc (developement).
3 - Sql.
4 - Data queue on as400
5 - Client access sever on as400.
6 - rpg pgm using client access Api to secure.(wrkreginf client access)

and with rpg, only os400 and rpg (with sockets).(just keep simple)

I think thats too much component for a simple app with java.
Many component mean less secure.
Its not simple to deploy.

Imnportant thing :

With socket you control all data on your connection.(lowest level with real
data)
With java ibm send you (by api) the data you control on as400.
Its not the data from your server, its ibm server (i don't know what ibm
does (black box).

And in fact we keep socket and send java to trash.
just for speed and security.
So maybe to develop unsecure (internal network) and no speed need, java is
better.
Just my point of view.
