You could use a trigger on the physical file (ADDPFTRG) which would then call your program whenever a record was added. Look in the RPG sorcerer's guide for info on how to do this. Or if you need to retain information as you go you could use a data queue. I have a setup where I wait for entries to come into a data queue and when one comes in my program processes it. This would need to used in conjunction with a trigger on a physical file if you wanted to get new records added to a file.
