Booth, Initially there are no records written to the subfile. This subfile is a load all of 400 max and 4 per screen. It is a Purchase Order entry screen where the user types however many lines they need press enter the RPG Does error checking and away we go... below is a what the screen looks like now... I put the zeros and Xs in the entry fields.... Right now I am having to increment the sequence number 1 -400 in the program. It is wasting too much time doing this and I was looking for a way to speed up the process. What I failed to mention in my original post is that this screen is being used through a screen scraping program that is allowing the user to see more than the 4 lines they see on the green screen. The problem is that it needs something to be unique on every page to work correctly. 001 0000000000 XXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX X 00000000 000000.00000 000 GL 000 WC 000 EXP 000 SPT/DUP% X 00 0.00 .00 Equip # 0000000000 Work order # 0000 Subproject # 000 Acct. Then what fields are being changed? The other question I have is about the RPG cycle. It looks to me like you plan to have an event-based event instead of a cycle-based event. May I ask how that will happen? --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@MartinVT.com ---------------------------------------------------------
