The basic rule is that any 2nd ovrdbf for the same file (your FileA)
replaces the override
from the 1st override. The complex part is dealing with activation groups,
or multiple
calls to the same program where files were not closed, and setting overrides
at different call levels.
In your examples 2 & 3, FileD is not overridden, so would look for the "F"
spec file name.
In example 1, OVRDBF File(FileA)  ToFile(FileC) - FileC opens

There is a lot of history & examples in the Archives of rpg400-l for ovrdbf.
