The only thing that comes to mind is to change the key field values on the duplicated keys to something that does not already exist. The easiest way to accomplish that would be to create a duplicate of your file with no records. Then create a program that will read the records in the current file and change the key field values if a record exists in the duplicated file with the same key values. When updating the record, you would then write the record to the duplicated file. Make sure you use FEOD when you do this though. You will, of course, have to do this before adding the UNIQUE keyword and recompiling the file. Hope that helps. Donald R.
