I am curious if p-code or w-code or whatever the common ile rep of a pgm is, was changed to accomodate the v5r1 rpg changes? After all, object code is different than source code. And saving to a previous release should just work at the common p/w/whatever code level, no?
It's not just the machine code. You also have to consider the back level run-time libraries and the back level system API's. Often, new functionality (or even bug fixes) in a program depends on new functionality (or bug fixes) in the current release of the system. Cheers! Hans
