I would agree that you could probably do something as Hans is suggesting but it would take many many man hours to produce such a thing and it just wouldn't be feasible unless that is what your company was dedicated to. Of course you could take it to varying degree's, but to go full fledged as Hans exampled wouldn't be worth the amount of time and maintenance it would take, IMO. But like Hans said, it would be a great learning experience;-) Barbara Morris also gave some good examples of how to retain an instance of an object but those are all things that could/should be built into the RPG compiler. The way Barbara described it, you would have to create your own instantiation mechanism for each object. Sure you can emulate a lot of different things in RPG but some of these things should be fundamental and included with the language. That is where I am coming from. . . . Aaron Bartell
