not trying to beat a dead horse here, but .. if the rpg compiler were open sourced then OO could be added to rpg now by 3rd party developers. and since the websphere language bundle would still be required to run a non ibm rpg compiler, ibm would not lose any revenue. and customers who dont want to OO their rpg would still have the ibm solution. so what possible argument is there against ibm open sourcing the rpg compiler?
