When does that drop effect?  At program completion?  Is it just for SQL
within that program?  What if this program calls another SQL program?

You can set commitment control off in the entire program with

c/exec sql
c+ set option commit = *none
c/end-exec

This saves trying to remember putting 'with NC' on each statement.
