Write a macro in Excel to run the transfer. The automation can still be
achieved but I would change the query to output to a spoolfile file
instead, then use an ActiveX object to acquire the spoolfile. We do this
all the time and use our ActiveX AS/400 Objects,
http://www.cm-inc.com/AS400ole/ to process the data.

If you need more help or want a copy of an existing macro, eMail directly
and I'd be happy to send you what I can.

Hi all,
I am looking to automate the process of downloading a query/400 outfile to
an Excel spreadsheet.
I am not sure if we can schedule the client access 'Data transfer from
AS/400' option to do the job automatically.
I am looking for a CL command to do this. Can anyone help me please.
Thanks,
Sunitha.
