I have a command line call which will put the definition for CRTBNDRPG into
a stream file /CCC. It's:

call qcdrcmdd ('CRTBNDRPG QSYS' x'000000000000000000000000000000000000000
461000000000000000000000061c3c3c3' DEST0200 ' ' CMDD0100 0)

and then just EDTF STMF('/CCC')

The example sent by Carsten Flensburg might be a bit easier to read as it
relates to the API call parameters :)

I did not see a problem with the link using the Information Center, but the
layout is that found in the OS/400 API Concepts section under Path name
format.

Bruce,

have you got an example of a call to this API around?

I got the reference, but the link to the path name format points to a
network disk at Rochester (I think) and I appear to have lost my mapping
<vbg>.

Subject: Re: Retrieve command defaults

The API Retrieve Command Definition (QCDRCMDD) will return command
parameter defaults. The output is in UTF-8 (an encoding of Unicode) XML so
you may want to first retrieve the definition to an Integrated File System
stream file and then look at the results using EDTF before trying to parse
through the results in RPG (so you know what you're getting into).

The API can be found under the Program and CL Command category of System
APIs.
