If you're going from V4R5 to V5R1 I'd just read the manual.  The free-format
stuff is very easy once you've done it.  And if you have CODE/400 there is a
built-in convert to free-form utility.  I wouldn't use it for pgms which
need to go in and out of free-form because that's a pain to read.  I really
like free-form.  The new bifs also aren't difficult to learn, especially if
you're using free-format because, well, you have to.

If you're going from RPGIV to ILE, I found Brad Stone's eRPG book very
beneficial.  That wasn't the point of the book but getting a primer on
subprocedures was an unavoidable side effect.  It was written before V5.
