It depends on what you mean by a performance issue. For some people the time/memory it takes can be fine, for some they are calling it over and over and it takes too much time. I would suggest you write a simple program that clears an array 10, 100, 1000 times and see if it's fast enough for you. If I'm doing this once at the top of a program, I may not worry about it. If I'm going to be doing this for every record in a 1,000,000 record database, I'd find some other way to do it. I think you'll just need to test it yourself and see if it's fast enough for you, if it's not fast enough, then find some other work around.
