RE: Difference bet. Primary and Full procedural file.

All these posts about cycle programming have brought two questions to my
mind.
1). How do I implement more than 10 breaks? If I remember correctly, I could
only use L0-L9 or L1-L9 indicators. Cannot remember properly.

2). Within each break, I need an additional break. For example, let us say I
need a Unit Of Measure break within say a  product level break.

I am not a guru of using level breaks and matching record indicators in the
cycle. It has been more than 8 years since I touched cycle programming and
using L1-L9 and M1-M9 indicators.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

In order for someone to write and post an alternative to be judged, we would
need a judge that didn't know the logic cycle, to prove the point that
maintenance is more readily "do-able" when the modern RPG programmer can
read the code and doesn't have to know an obscure "cycle running in the
background" type thing...

Of course not.  But I'm still waiting for somebody to post an alternative to
my
code which they recommend instead of the cycle.  You've done two replies now
which do not suggest an alternative.

All I'm asking for is code to back up the claims DIY is easier to understand
and
maintain.  I took the first volley.  I'm still waiting for the ball to come
over
the net.

After that we can compare DIY matching records logic with full exceptions
handling. <g>
