Just a guess, but... maybe i's because you're encoding your messages as quoted-printable? The reason I say that is because the equal sign is a special character in quoted-printable encoding. David's running some kind of software that auto-converts the quoted-printable and other encodings to be just plain-text. A bug in that software would certainly account for the equal signs disappearing. Try posting your messages as plain text...
