The reason I cannot use CPYF is that I am trying to capture a history record
for a record that needed to be deleted. There is a series of 8 files that
all relate to each other and to clean up the data I wrote a cleanup program
for the users to delete the record plus all related data. However, as sure
as I am type ing this, the user will either delete the wrong data or they
will want a log of what was deleted at some later date.

I did have the EXTNAME keyword missing and that solved my problem.
Thanks to all who replied.

Peter,

Is it possible to use CPYF? Why write a program if you don't have to?
