And a good implementation of an email client lets you setup a kill filter for
these which will keep your mailbox from being flooded.  Mine even supports
sophisticated regular expression matching, priorities, automatic expiration
after a certain amount of inactivity or calendar days, etc

Then the only problem is bandwidth, but since I don't pay based on bandwidth
used, it is not a real problem either...
