Yes you need V5R1.  No, it doesn't need to be compatible with earlier
releases because of two reasons:
1)  Any feature that came out in a newer release, like V5R1, will not
compile down to a previous release, even if you specify a target release.
2)  You need to upgrade the others  :-)
